Anibal de Castro and Cesar Medina appointed ambassadors to Spain and Panama

SANTO DOMINGO. The Executive Power appointed yesterday journalists Anibal de Castro and Cesar Medina as ambassadors in Spain and Panama respectively.

By means of Decree 403 - 14 "Anibal de Castro is appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary before the Kingdom of Spain."

And then, Decree 404 - 14 appointed Cesar Augusto Medina as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Government of the Republic of Panama.

Medina substitutes Octavio Lister in Panama. Lister was appointed ambassador in Costa Rica, on 9 October.

De Castro was the Dominican ambassador in Washington until 2011, appointed by then President Leonel Fernandez. He was the director and founder of Diario Libre where each Saturday he signs a column in the Readings section. Before this he directed the Rumbo magazine and the evening newspaper Ultima Hora.

Medina served as the Dominican ambassador in Spain, also appointed by Fernandez. The same as De Castro, he is a veteran journalist who was well known on television and in the written press. At the present time he writes an opinion column in the Listin Diario.
