Diario Libre obtained a copy of the Marriage Act registered at the Central Electoral Board with the number 01-7053295-7, which certifies that Carola as she is lovingly called (the daughter of Carlos Daniel and Fabia), was married to Emad Adl (the son of Amir and Farideh) on 6 June 2009, on Luis F. Thomen Street, number 356 of the Mabette II Residence, in El Millon. The civil act was witnessed by Fernando Antonio Martinez Bello and Helen Janet Blandino Baez and was officiated by magistrate Reyna Esther Cuello Perez, an officer of the civil registry. The document, sent to the Diario Libre, was checked out by completely reliable sources at the Central Electoral Board. The situation in which Carlina finds herself is, as is well known, a violation of the regulations for Miss Universe contestants.
Sources at "Miss RD Universo" told Diario Libre that they would send an official notification, but that in principle, the situation seem to be real and that in place of the beauty queen that was chosen, the crown would go on the head of the First Finalist, Dulcita Lieggi, the representative of the National District. At the close of this edition news came in that Magali Febles, the director of the Miss Universe franchise, had taken the crown from Carlina.
